Do you ever go through life thinking "if only"? Once this or that happens? When I achieve this or that? As soon as I buy that? I’ll be happy when ______
More, more, more . . .
When will it ever be enough?
Pause and reflect on Jesus' first recorded words: What do you want?
As this new year begins ask yourself what is it that your soul is longing for?
An even tougher question - is what your heart chasing after truly fulfilling? Is it enough to quench your soul's thirst?
As hard as we try to not commercialize Christmas, it just migrates to getting the perfect gifts, making the right food, experiencing the perfect outing, hosting the most ideal celebration.

I have to stop and ask myself the question - what am I truly seeking in this life? What am I prioritizing - materialism or the Messiah?
Be honest: Don't we sometimes expect God to be like Santa Claus, delivering all the good to the deserving and somehow "getting the memo" on all our wishes and longings? But our Messiah is no Santa Claus. He doesn't simply promise to deliver gifts; He promises to be the gift we truly need.

Close your eyes and imagine Abba’s very presence surrounding you - He's in your midst, He's with you
saving you in so many ways - because He is able - no one or nothing else can but the Mighty Warrior can, no matter what you're facing, HE CAN
rejoicing over you with gladness - He delights in you Say it with your heart "He delights in me" and receive this blessed truth today
quieting you with His perfect love - He and He alone can quiet your soul seeing you through eyes of love and not condemnation
He rejoices over you with singing - the God Who created the universe sings over you - still your heart and listen for Abba's song that He's singing over you
