Definition of "know"  according to Dictionary.com
to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty:

Here's the kicker, Job spoke these words in chapter 19 after he had lost his children, his flocks, and was in the midst of being chastised by his "friends".

Think about this, Job lived around the same time as Abraham Job's History Through the span of time as we know it, this truth remains - OUR REDEEMER LIVES.

Let's take a closer look at the story of Job. In one day he lost his vast herds, all but a few servants, his camels, and ALL of his children. As if that wasn't enough, the Bible tells us, "On another day . . "  Job 2:1  Job was "afflicted with painful sores"  Job 2:7  ALL over his body.

To top it all off, Job's "encouraging" wife told him to "Curse God and die!" Job 2:9 Furthermore, Job was blessed with three "supportive" friends who were sure Job had some secret sin that brought all these calamites on him.

Ever feel a bit like Job?

We are living in turbulent times, this is nothing new, yet this truth remains: OUR REDEEMER LIVES.

Why did Job remain faithful to God when it seemed like God had abandoned him? Job knew what you and I know. All those years ago, Job lived Easter.

And honestly, not being with the Father leaves you oh so empty, aching intensely, and aimlessly wondering, Lost. God will give you exactly what you need for the journey, just keep abiding in the Father and claiming this truth: I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES.

God and I have been on the outs for a bit here. Me not quite understanding His game plan and Him not being on board with mine! And yet, He's drawn me to keep plugging away, to keep coming into His presence no matter how I feel.

Are my times with Him these glorious little visits where I leave feeling amazing about life - NO! Do I go about my day doing all that He's asked me to do with perfection - NO, just ask my husband!

But, I can say this, in the midst of my struggling I have seen His goodness and love the moments when His Word shakes me to the core with the weight of its beautiful truths!

Here's what I love about Job's story:

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand on the earth.

Job 19:25

In the midst of unfathomable circumstances, surrounded by Negative Nellies/Neds; Job spoke these words:

I know that my Redeemer lives

Read those powerful words again!

I

KNOW

THAT

MY

REDEEMER

LIVES

and that in the end HE will stand upon the earth

Do I know how the painful situations are going to play out - NO. Do I know when/if things might calm down - NO. Do I know when my aching heart will be stilled - NO.

Even with all the messy things of life, I do know (understand as TRUTH, apprehend with CERTAINTY) just as Job knew:

MY REDEEMER LIVES and when all the dust is settled, HE, God Almighty, my Father, will stand upon the earth ~
