Just Be
Chaos, Running, Unsettled => JUST BE
Mercy, we live in a chaotic world where we are constantly running and often left feeling very unsettled.
On top of the pressures we create for ourselves which lead to all the unnecessary hype, we are constantly engaged with others through technology (says the one writing a blog). Stay with me.
Several years ago during spring planting I had been running the guys around from here to there in the red racing van (so named by Grandkid #4). As I was heading home on a country road lined with trees, feeling very squirrley, I heard God say these words:
Just Be
Over the years since, that phrase keeps recircling.
Just be . . .
Each year I choose a word/phrase and Bible verse to focus on and put those in a prominent place to be reminded of where God is leading.
My 2026 phrase is: Be Still
My verse:
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV
Combine these beautiful words with another gem God has given me:
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy and i will give thanks to Him in song. Psalm 28:7 NIV
Weary soul, I don't know what weighing you down, but I encourage you to just be.
Just be with Abba.
Just be with open arms allowing Him to labor because He is able and we need the rest.
Just be helped by the One Who is our strength and our shield so that our hearts will again leap for joy.
Just be still before God Almighty asking Him what you need to let go of so that the chaos of life will diminish in the midst of a peace that passes all understanding.
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
This summer, may each of us just be as God leads us to be ~

See you in August!
Your words pair so beautifully and comfortingly (don’t think that’s really a word) with the book I’m currently reading. Louie Giglio’s Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table. Perhaps we should begin each day with the words of Psalm 23 and JUST BE!
love this thought, just be, this is hard for me to do. I’m going to work on it though!!! 🥰
Just Be! So good.
