My Faithful God
El - HaNe'eman
MY FAITHFUL GOD
Forever by my side
Aligning blessings amidst the trials
Indescribably able to know my every thought
Then gracefully transform them all for Your glory
Holding my hand through the journey of molding my heart
Forgetting completely my faltering along the path
Understanding what my heart of flesh needs
Loving me through it all ~
Forever by my side -
Deuteronomy 31:8 declares God is not going anywhere and there is no where we are going that He isn't.
Rather we're praying or straying, He's staying!
You see, this verse was written toward the end of the Israelites 40 years of wandering and yet God assured His people He was, He is, and forever will be!
What comfort . . .
The glitch with my perception of God’s abundant faith, is ME - MY expecting heart.
Aligning blessings in the midst of trials.
Am I looking for "my way" out of the hard or am I looking for God’s healing grace. He's there, working things out for His glory. The words in Romans 8:28 are not fluff; they are a promise backed by thousands of years of actions where God has proved Himself over and over again.
What will I embrace, God's grace or satan's lies?
Indescribably able to know my every thought
Then gracefully transform them all for Your glory
God so believes that I can be used for His kingdom that He gracefully transforms me - no shame, no condemnation - only sweet, sweet grace.
Oh Abba, You know my thoughts - fear, doubt, anger, every one - and yet, You still want to use me. Thank You. Thank You. Humble Your servant and use me.
As we have watched little ones learn to walk, do we keep track of all the times they fall, or do we simply rejoice in each little step taken?
Isn't that how God is with us? Does He see our mistakes, yes. But He keeps no record of our many failures. He only reaches out His Mighty Arms of love to steady us and get us upright. Our faithful God delights in us - even when we stumble!
Holding my hand through the journey of molding my heart
Forgetting completely my faltering along the path
Have you ever read 1 Corinthians 13, I mean really read it?
- the most excellent way
- without love, EVERYTHING is done in vain
- of faith, hope, and love, the greatest is love
Understanding what my heart of flesh needs
Loving me through it all
God doesn't chastise me into surrender - He loves me into obedience. He doesn't see me for who I am now, He sees me for who I am in HIM.
Is there hardship and discipline along the way, yes. But only, always with a perfect love - the most excellent way.
God, Who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
1 Corinthians 1:9
What if I ruminated on:
- the dry ground between 2 "ginormouser" (4-year old grandkid word) walls of water rather than 400 years of slavery
- the empty tomb rather than the "unfairness" of the religious leaders
- the 17-year old grandson who popped in to see his Nana rather than a mountainous to-do list
- the countless times God has delivered me rather then the current trial that seems impossible
What if I could remember these simple, beautiful, powerful words of TRUTH when the path in front of me is not what I would choose:
God is Faithful
