Seek the ONE
Seek HIM
Last week I lost my pocket pedometer. I looked and looked and looked to no avail. I knew it was in the house because I was able to sync it to my phone and saw I had only taken 45 steps that morning before it disappeared.
As I'm searching frantically for that device I sensed God asking me: Do you seek Me like you're seeking to find that pedometer? You're desperate to find something that will fail, has thousands of replicas, and can only tell you how many steps you've taken.
I will not fail you
I am God - there is no other
Not only can I tell you how many steps you've taken, I can lovingly guide those steps.
God is impressing on my heart - seek ME and only ME. Stop relying on the people and things of this world. Allow Me to speak truth to your wrestling soul. Let Me be the One you seek.
I'd like to invite you to a spiritual discipline that involves your Bible, a quiet heart (be patient this takes time I'm told), and the very Person Who loved you enough to create you as His masterpiece.
Take some deep breaths, fill your lungs with the Holy Spirit. Enter into His presence with no expectations - come just as you are and allow God Almighty to meet you in this moment.

21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” He said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

Lectio Divina => Latin phrase meaning "Holy Reading"
Lectio Divina is a time to commune with the Author of the Holy Scriptures
LECTIO (Read) - Either out loud or quietly, read the verse/passage slowly, seeking God's nearness. Pay attention to the context and flow of the words. Then, in silence, sit with the Holy Spirit.
MEDITATIO (Reflect) - As you read the verse/passage a second time, listen for a word or phrase God is laying on your heart. Ask Abba why He's drawing you to this particular word/phrase. Silently listen for God's still small voice.
ORATIO (Respond) - During the third reading, ask God what He desires and how He wants to use the word/phrase - is it a prompt to lament, to give thanks, to repent, to surrender. Silently lean in to the Holy Spirit's leading. Don't take this step lightly - yield to Abba what He is asking you to give. In the laying down you will find freedom.
CONTEMPLATIO - (Rest) Draw near to Abba allowing His love, grace, and peace to wash over you as you read the fourth time.
