I'm Surrounded by You
These beautiful words were being lifted to the heavens from a little white chapel on a corner in Wilmore, Kentucky. Growing up I never realized that history was HIStory - God's story. God has opened my eyes to how all of history was written by Him - including the great revivals that have happened over the years! So when revival broke out at Asbury University, I was able to go to the campus and God moved in my heart in such a powerful way. I hope to be able to share that life changing day with you.
February 18, 2023, was one of the most monumental days in my walk with God. He left me with seven words.
Humility
As we waited in line, we were sharing our stories with those next to us. Each and every person gave ALL the glory to God for where they were and what had happened in their lives! EVERY person knew exactly Who had led them to this point!
Grace
No one who shared their journey felt condemned, from the man in his mid-twenty's who had made, taken, and sold drugs since he was eight to the minister from Alabama. No matter where we are, what we have done, grace covers ALL our mistakes. Humans rate sins, God erases them when we seek His forgiveness ~ grace, amazing grace!
Boldness
The absolute confidence with which everyone shared Who God was in their lives was nothing but contagious! A reckless abandon of what other's thought was so liberating. God, You are good and I do not want to hide that under a basket any longer!
Power
The enemy wants to keep us focused on the negative, the hard, the ugly. The power of God was so strongly felt as Christians gathered to humble themselves and glorify Him. There is victory is Christ. We DO NOT have to walk in defeat! There is power in the blood of Jesus!
Worship
While in the little white chapel, I got a small glimpse of what Heaven will be like. Worshipping God Almighty all day, everyday, with no worries whatsoever!!! Absolutely nothing else mattered - NOTHING! It was truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced!
Love
Through a series of events orchestrated by God Himself, I ended up at the alter in the chapel. When I told the lady who prayed with me that I didn't even know why I was up there, the Holy Spirit prompted her to pray that I would know God loves me. WOW! Those three words tore down walls that I had built my entire Christian life!
Surrounded
One of the songs the worship team sang was "Surrounded". What powerful words!
"It may look like I'm surrounded, but I'm surrounded by You"
I'm surrounded by YOU. Throughout our days, we can feel surrounded by the enemy, but the truth is we are surrounded by God Himself! When you feel like the enemy is suffocating you, lift your hands in praise, sing these powerful words, and watch him flee in the Name of Jesus!
Thank You Jesus, I'm surrounded by You! You've got my back!
I'm not sure words could ever convey my experience with God that day. But I do know this, I don't want to go back to where I was before I went!
My friends, GOD LOVES YOU! He loves you so fiercely that He sent His only Son to die so that you could be in His presence wherever you are. Stop right now and enter His presence. He's there, He's always there loving you and drawing you into His open arms. God gives us victory, He gives us hope. Please don't spend any more time walking in defeat - that's where the enemy wants us, not our Abba Father.
Humble yourself before God, let His grace and love surround you. Worship your Creator with such a reckless abandon that His power fills you with a boldness that cannot be contained!
God is real and He so desperately wants to write your story ~ please let Him!
