Why, my God, why . . .
ME: Why, God, why? Why does this have to be so hard? Where is the relief in this pain? God, I've prayed about this situation and instead of getting better, it seems to only get worse. I'm seeking You, Father.
God, I am just so weary and tired. My heart is breaking. I honestly don't know how much more I can endure. I just don't understand. . . Why, why does it have to be this way?
GOD: Oh, My precious, precious child, I do see your heartache and My heart aches with you. You see, when I created the world all was good.
Then came the desire to know good and evil; the forbidden fruit was eaten enabling sin and brokenness into My perfectly created world. I knew with the fall of the Garden of Eden, My precious children would suffer. Throughout My Word, I have promised to never leave you NEVER!
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32
My sweet child, I know you need hope in the hard. You need strength for the journey. I know you need unconditional love when you feel lonely and unwanted.
You need unending grace for your weary, aching soul. I know you need a relationship with Me that makes you complete and could never be found in any person on earth.
I didn't choose suffering for you; but My beloved, I did choose suffering and death for My Son so that We could walk beside you in your pain. Please lean into ME. I have overcome the world. I will never leave you or forsake you throughout this journey. Stop trying to figure it all out. Rest in My arms of grace and let Me handle your hard.
Grieve, lament, pour out your weary soul to Me, but please don't loose sight of Who I AM. Allow Me to heal your hurts.
Don't focus on what's in front of you, My precious child, but look to the One Who's above you.
I AM able ~
The above content was written in April 2022. Four years ago. Goodness I read these words and am reminded of how desperate I was for relief from the path I was walking.
Life seemed so dark, so confusing. Almost without hope. The arrows kept coming at me.
One of the things I remember most from this timeframe was not being able to listen to any praise music.
The other day I was reading Exodus 15:2 and was struck by my notes. The NIV says, "The Lord is my strength and my song", but I wrote "my defense" to the side.
Reading those added words took me back to a time I hope to never relive. Yet, I know if that's where God leads me, I have learned that His grace indeed is sufficient.
The LORD (Yah) defends me when I need someone to have my back, but in His amazing love He also is my song - maybe not simultaneously, but He is exactly what I need whatever season I find myself.
Why, my God, why . . .
So that there is more of You and less of me. To YOU be all glory ~
